New Signs...

In a bid to get the message across
that dog fouling and littering isn't acceptable
we've now got some additional signs for
Greenstead Slopes.

I've just been for a walk around the area and I have to say it's a beautiful place to be, especially at this time of year, and it's such a shame that a few irresponsible people choose to spoil it for everyone else.
I saw a pair of stunning jays swooping across the slopes - they were magnificent (unfortunately I didn't manage to capture them on my camera but trust me, they were amazing!) In and around the woods is an absolute haven for wildlife and it's vital that we do everything we can to keep it that way. I saw 3 types of butterflies; comma, large white and tortoiseshell, dozens of ladybirds and several species of bees. Obviously, the trees were full of a vast variety of birds, from tiny little finches to chunky-looking pigeons.
The slopes themselves are currently covered in daisies (is it just me, or are daisies looking bigger this year?!)
If you'd like to get involved in helping us, in whatever capacity you feel able, please email us at keepthegreenclean@gmail.com This project relies heavily on volunteers, without whom this entire area would soon become another urban victim of fly tippers and vandals. Please help us to Keep the Green Clean!
